Relationships based on trust and transparency are built to last longer. And we are proud to announce that Froomz has a 100% opt-in relationship with each venue featured on its website, underscoring and guaranteeing the accuracy of the details we provide.

Introducing Froomz 1.0“Many other venue marketplaces simply grab what they find online and post it on their site as if it’s exclusive information,” said Christina Dunham, VP of Marketing and Business Development at Froomz. “Often, venue managers are unaware that the listings are posted without their knowledge or authorization, making the integrity of the information compromised. We have a direct relationship with the venue itself so as not to mislead event planners. No guessing games here!”

For event planners, accuracy and quality of information are imperative, as much time can be spent on researching and contacting each individual venue. Pricing, availability, and specific features of each venue change regularly, thus it is critical to have up-to-date details. Froomz enables apples to apples comparisons without the time consuming email and phone tag.

“During a recent focus group discussion we led with local meeting and event planners, they mentioned how frustrating it was to find the perfect venue on online directories only to discover that the place had already gone out of business, or that the menus and banquet packages were from two years ago,” said Froomz CEO Yan Heim. “With Froomz, you can scan through all the available pricing packages, whether a simple room rental or food & beverage options, all of which are managed and updated by the venues themselves. If you are under time pressure, just choose an option and book it right at your fingertips. None of it is possible without the venue’s participation”.

Froomz Venue Growth - 2011-2012

Currently, Froomz features 359 meeting rooms, party venues and event spaces on its website, including the SS Jeremiah O’Brien, Julia Morgan Ballroom, Dogpatch Studios, and several art galleries in the SF Bay Area, with several hundreds more in the pipeline.

Froomz at Gentry Magazine ReceptionOn Wednesday, May 9th, Gentry Magazine celebrated its first Philanthropy Issue with a reception honoring The Gentry 50 — men and women who continue to make an impact through their charitable contributions and efforts in the community.

Included in the Gentry 50 list are Marc Andreesen (Co-Founder of Netscape), Marc Benioff (CEO of SalesForce), Sergey Brin (Co-Founder of Google), Ron Conway (Angel Investor), Doris Fisher (Founder of the Gap), Jeff Skoll (Former President of e-Bay), and Meg Whitman (President/CEO of HP).

Sponsored by Robert W. Baird, Seton Medical Center, Punta Sayulita, Silicon Valley Bank, Napa Valley Vintners and Tiffany & Co., the event was held at the Fisker-McLaren Showroom, a high-end dealership on the corner of Arastradero Road and El Camino Real in Palo Alto that recently underwent a $4 million facelift. The showroom features a rotating display of Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Indy Race Cars.

On hand for guests to fondle were the Fisker Karma, a luxury hybrid with a $100k price tag, a $4.5 million 1995 cherry red McLaren F1, and McLaren’s latest car, the MP4-12C, comparatively affordable at $250k.

The 300+ guests were treated to live music, wine tasting by Robert Biale Vineyards and Scheiger Vineyards as well as delectable bites from Quattro at the Four Seasons Silicon Valley.

Froomz salutes Gentry Magazine and the long list of philanthropist that continue to support and advocate for the community. As Sloan Citron, Publisher of Gentry, puts it, “Money and resources given away yield pleasure and benefits that can never be taken away. When we do something for someone else, we ensure that the benefit is served, and that the pleasure emanating from that action stays with us for our entire life.”

Froomz at Keiretsu

EUREKA! is a project of the Keiretsu Forum, a worldwide network of private equity and corporate investors that provides early stage capital, and the City of Berkeley Office of Economic Development. The event provides mentoring, resources, networking and feedback from angel investors to early stage entrepreneurs based in Berkeley.

Held at at the Crystal Ballroom of Hotel Shattuck, the event kicked off with a reception hosted by FIVE Restaurant, during which the six competing companies showcased their products and offered live demos. Berkeley Mayor Tom Bates provided the guests a warm welcome and Judith Iglehart served as program emcee. Each company was allotted 12 minutes: 4-minute presentation, 4-minute Q&A, and 4-minute feedback.

The judging panel, led by Randy Williams, included Brad Winegar, Victor Belfor, Alison Wellsfry, Ed Dua, Julio Delofeu, and Paul Weiss. Froomz received top marks for the night, with a solid 4 (out of 5) across the board from all panelists.

Runner-Ups were AlbertMing, an apparel design company that combines the functional performance of outdoor apparel with tailored clothing, represented by Founder Albert Shyy, and FlickLaunch, a streaming movie experience built for Facebook, represented by CO/Co-Founder Craig Tanner.

Other competitors included Atdaa, a crowd-sourced travelbook for the world, Kloudless, a service that helps you manage your email attachments, and Taptin, which clones mobile apps for malls and merchants.
