On Wednesday, July 31, the Event Marketing Rockstars SF held its 2013-2014 planning session at Bloodhound’s corporate headquarters, a funky multi-level office space that once served as an art gallery in San Francisco’s Mission District.
Founded by Ian Adams, Event Marketing Rockstars SF is a meet-up group that brings together event marketing professionals from around the Bay Area, enabling them to share expertise, exchange war stories, and learn best practices in meeting, conference and event planning and promotions from each other.
About a dozen members gathered together to determine discussion topics for the year, and decide on project managers. After a quick meeting, the team was treated to a wine and cheese reception, courtesy of our wonderful hosts, Ellie MacBride and Jason Lee of Bloodhound.

9/15/13 – Event Technology Round-Up
The meet-up will explore technologies/apps that help streamline the planning, prospecting and promotional aspects of meetings, events and conferences.
11/13/13 – Best Practices for Event/Conference Planning
From best practices for pre- and post- event/conference marketing to how to make lasting impressions at an event.
1/15/14 – Pitch Perfect PR/Publiciy
Discussions will focus on how to pitch media effectively to secure press coverage for events.
3/19/14 – Sales Strategies for Event Success
How to align sales and marketing efforts in promoting events, and learn a few tips and techniques from veterans in the field.
5/21/14 – Event Marketing Master Class
From writing killer copy for email marketing campaigns to creating a kick-ass digital presence to mastering the art of social timing, it’s all about rocking event marketing and promotions.
