On the last Thursday of every month, the Bay Area’s beau monde gather at the ultra-hip Redwood Room at the CLIFT hotel for Bardot, San Francisco’s newest invite-only monthly Happy Hour event. Named after the famous French bombshell Brigitte Bardot, the event was created by Antonio Sierra, Marketing Director for The DJ List (the leading resource for the electronic dance music industry) and his two business partners, Jeremie Habib and Franky Boissy, who happen to be French.
First staged in November 2012, Antonio says that the event celebrates what Brigitte Bardot stands for: glamour and sophistication, with a hint of mischief, sensuality and fun. Asked what sets this event apart from other after-work mixers, he explains, “It’s a mix of elements. The Redwood Room at Clift is gorgeous. Then there’s the amazing drinks from our sponsor, Bols Genever, plus our resident band and DJs. We are very proud to have one of the most talented and in-demand live bands in the bay area, Hot Pocket, and our resident DJs, J. Remy (Boudoir, SF) and Franky Boissy (PINK, Purple Music SF). So, when you put all that together, it becomes a magical evening.”
On February 28, I had the opportunity to experience Bardot first hand, along with a few friends in tow. We were there to celebrate my friend Carolyn’s birthday, who drove all the way down from Sacramento to spend her special day in the city by the bay. Amidst the dark paneled walls (created with the wood of a single Redwood tree), the whimsical furnishings fashioned by French designer Philippe Starck, along with the live performance by SF Soul, Funk, & Hip-Hop Quartet, Hot Pocket, and the sea of beautiful faces, Bardot delivered on its promise of a quirky, sexy event in a big way.
Presented by Boudoir, the CLIFT Hotel, Franky Boissy, and Bols Genever, Bardot is held every last Thursday of the month at The Clift Hotel from 5pm to 9pm. To RSVP for their March 28th event, visit their event page.
